Our HOST team has been invited by the Municipality of Amsterdam to be present as a preventive measure and to engage in conversations with neighborhood residents and partners. This initiative has been very positively received. The results of HOST in Venserpolder and the H-buurt have become visible in a short time and have been very positively experienced by everyone in the residential area.
Mayor Halsema visited the K-Buurt following two explosions on March 16 and 17. The Mayor is trying to provide support to the neighborhood residents through this visit. For instance, a bus has been made available by the Municipality of Amsterdam where partners such as Youth Safety, Safety Team Kraaiennest, the Southeast District, and the Safety Project Leader are present.
A Thank You from the Mayor
At the beginning of April, following an incident, we even received an official thank you from Mayor Halsema for the entire HOST team. This was particularly for the prompt actions, courage, and insight demonstrated by these team members. This led to a clear description, tracking, and ultimately an arrest by the police!
Kudos to our HOST team!! With a big heart for the neighborhood and its residents.
