Last Saturday, September 5, 2026, a section of the Amsterdamse Bos temporarily traded the tranquility of forest walks for bass music and thousands of partygoers. Sona Worldwide set up shop right in the middle of the greenery, with the popular duo from Keine Musik, &ME and Rampa, as the main attractions. ISG Security handled all event security, from the preliminary meeting through the end of the day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A familiar name at a new location<\/h5>\n

Sona Worldwide has long been organizing events that stand out for their choice of venue and lineup, and this edition was no exception. Instead of a traditional festival grounds or a club, the Amsterdamse Bos was chosen. This choice creates a unique atmosphere, but also requires a different approach to security than at a fenced-off site. Forest areas have multiple access routes, fewer natural barriers, and an environment that both visitors and local residents\u2014as well as other forest users\u2014must take into account. For the ISG Security team, this meant that preparations for this edition required a bit more attention than usual. Whereas a festival site is typically fully cordoned off and designed to handle large crowds, in the Amsterdamse Bos, we had to take into account existing trails, bike paths, and other forest visitors who had nothing to do with the event. This requires security personnel who are just as capable of contributing ideas about the layout of a site as they are about safety during the event itself.<\/p>\n

Approach and implementation<\/h5>\n

Preparations began well before the first visitors arrived. Together with the Sona Worldwide organization, the layout of the site was reviewed, including walking routes, entrances and exits, and areas requiring extra attention due to the open location of the forest. During the preliminary meeting, the entire team received a clear briefing so that everyone knew where they stood and what was expected of them at that moment.<\/p>\n
